Give yourself a pause in the sea of overwhelm we sometimes call life. Take the time in your day and thoughts to focus on you; what makes you happy and joyous in life. Do those things. I’ve often thought that to become addicted to self-care and self-love is an act of kindness to ourselves, yet where do we start when we’re so plugged in to life and others? How do we find our way back to ourselves?

“The best investment you can make is in yourself. Self-care, self-love and self-development. Give more to yourself and you will have more to give to others.” ― Akiroq Brost

Ever wonder what really drives your habits and actions? Thoughts, feelings and beliefs are some things. However, I’ve recently discovered from working with clients that a certain level of self-love and self-care impacts goal actualization. When you look in the mirror do you love what you see? Are you proud of yourself and you’re accomplishments? Is your life joyous, full of fun and love? Like many people this is an area of development, especially for women who care for others – it’s critical to think of caring for yourself – #bodymindspirit. Below are 5 tips to #self-care and #nourishment.

5 Tips to Self-Care

#1 Meditation and Yoga

Quiet time for your body to open a space for clearing is simple and impactful. #Meditation is rewiring your brain to pause before reacting. You’re teaching your mind to stay quiet, #focused and at #peace. Even 5 minutes a day makes a difference. I’ve recently been using the #CALM app on my phone. I highly recommend it! Similarly, #yoga helps me unwind my mind and stretch out my body. Try it for 30 days to see the difference in your mind, sleep and body.

#2 Gratitude

Before I drift off to sleep I take 5 minutes to journal what I’m grateful for during the day. #thefiveminutejournal give you a great structure to do just that. An attitude of gratitude will put your mind at ease, soften judgement, put you in a state of #joy, and overall lead to greater #wellbeing and love for your life. Try it!

#3 Spa Days

If you’re feeling overwhelmed or stressed, you may need a little physical touch and pampering. Spa days are the best! If you’re on a budget, draw a hot bath with #essentialoils and bubbles. Pass on getting a latte at #SBUX and put $5 in your Spa Day fund. Trust me, your whole being will thank you!

#4 Cleansing

I’ve been cleansing for 6 years. I can’t tell you how good it feels to get great nutrition in my body and allow my body the time to relax and recharge. Message me for information on my #30daycleanseprograms. They’s helped me release my last sticky pounds, have more energy and give my digestion a weekend off.

#5 Sleep

Not everyone requires a full 8 hours of down-time, some require more and some less. However, if you can get some shut eye between the hours of 10pm-2am your body will feel it’s best. Also, there are certain rituals to help to sleep even deeper. One way is to tell yourself to let go as your head hits the pillow, versus feeling stress and anxiety for not sleeping. My #sleep mantra is, “let go, let go.”Also, one hour before bed turn off all electronics and read or journal. This will trigger your brain that it’s night time instead of the blue light telling your brain to #wakeup.
